While in 1800 only two percent of the world population lived in cities, in 2030 this number will have increased to more than 60 percent. As a result of this enormous migration to the cities, more demands are made of our urban environment and specifically real estate. How do we ensure that our cities remain sustainable, green, and enjoyable to live in? Real estate is responsible for more than 38% of CO2 emissions worldwide. Therefore, sustainable development is a must.
