The Passage The Hague

Provast is restoring and redeveloping The Passage – The Hague’s iconic retail destination since 1885.

This national monument from 1885 is the oldest shopping centre in the Netherlands and a household name in The Hague and far beyond. In collaboration with Kentie and Partners Architects, we carried out a comprehensive restoration and redevelopment of The Passage.

We restored the original ornamentation and granito flooring, and added modern lighting, new façades, and two bridges. As a result, the retail units and upper floors are once again usable. With a new, high-quality branch layout, The Passage remains a prime A1 shopping destination more than a century after its original completion.
